FIRST FLIGHT
The FIRST FLIGHT New Play Festival is one of Indie Theatre's premiere development events for new plays. We're excited that FF will return in Fall 2024, with a full open submission window.
Please Note: We are NOT accepting submissions at this time. Please do not send any materials until the open submission period is announced. These will be deleted/discarded.
COMMISSIONS
We're thrilled to announce the commissions of two brand-new plays by playwright Gina Femia and Nandita Shenoy.
Gina and Nandita will be developing these new plays throughout 2025. The new works will be featured in the First Flight New Play Festival in December 2025.
This follows up on our 2024 commission to playwright Kari Bentley-Quinn and her play Orphan Christmas
BATON PROJECT
The Baton Project is a play reading series where artists “pass on” the opportunity to another artist, helping to recognize the talent of their peers and to bring industry recognition to artists who might not have received it yet.
The goal is for artistic creators to work collegially by helping promote each other's work. We know that every creator has a colleague about whom they think, “wow, how does the world not know about them?” This would be an opportunity to celebrate the work of those colleagues.
